The Population Sciences area interfaces with two major Stanford Cancer Institute programs, Cancer Epidemiology and Cancer Prevention and Control. Researchers in these areas work cooperatively to improve the ability to prevent cancer and reduce its burden.
The Cancer Epidemiology Program and Cancer Prevention and Control Program in the Population Sciences area combine the expertise and resources of the Cancer Prevention Institute of California and Stanford University including the Schools of Medicine, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, Economics, and the Graduate School of Business. Additional institutions represented by members are the VA, Palo Alto Health Economics Research Center and Kaiser Permenante's Northern California Research Group.
