Genomics and Population Research
The Cancer Epidemiology Program and Cancer Prevention and Control Program members are actively involved in developing techniques to facilitate the analysis of genetic information and enhance the understanding of gene environment interactions.
Key areas of research include:
- Linkage analysis and identification of hereditary factors
- Genome Wide Association Studies
- BRCA1 Mutation in Ethnic, Racial Groups
- Cancer incidence and survival, particularly among Asians and Asian Americans
- Genetic tissue banking
- Molecular tagging to facilitate whole genome analysis
- Mammalian DNA repair and DNA damage inducible responses
