Screening Utilization
Program researchers conduct early cancer detection research outreach efforts in ethnic and socio-economic underserved communities. Topics of study include:
- access to and satisfaction with breast, cervical and colorectal screening
- willingness and ability to pay for screening tests
- provider interventions in African American, Chinese, Filipino, Latino and Vietnamese populations
- psychosocial issues related to the perceived risk for prostate cancer among African-American men, as compared with white men, and the impact of these perceptual differences on rates of prostate cancer screening
- follow-up of abnormal Pap smears
