Lifestyle Interventions and Survivorship
Program researchers are collaborating with seven other academic institutions in the Women's Healthy Living and Eating (WHEL) trial to determine whether a low-fat, high-fiber plant-based diet can prevent recurrence of breast cancer over an average 6-year period in 3000 women who had been diagnosed with breast cancer (Stage I-IIIa). The Stanford WHEL program is recruiting patients through the SEER registry and other sources throughout the entire Bay Area.
