Ashley A Powell

Postdoctoral Fellow

I implemented and managed the clinical research study Molecular Analysis of Cancer. In addition, I developed new cancer diagnostic technologies (magnetics and microfluidics) for the study of circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancers. I collaborated with physicians on patient identification, personally consented patients, and handled tissue and blood procurement. I also ensured human subjects compliance. My research duties included circulating tumor cell purification, fluorescent microscopy, cancer stem cell isolation, single cell gene expression analysis and maintenance of the Breast Cancer Tumor Bank.
