  • Description:  Chronic hepatitis B and liver cancer caused by hepatitis B is a leading public health problem in China. Discrimination against those chronically infected with hepatitis B remains widespread. In a prior study, we found major gaps remain in China's healthcare workers' knowledge and preventive practices. To improve hepatitis B knowledge and preventive practices by public health and healthcare workers in China, we developed an evidence based, narrated interactive 3-modules course that is offered online and developed in Chinese. The value and effectiveness of this training course is being assessed in Shandong province. Future plans: dissemination of this free training tool for use by China ministry of health and China CDC in other provinces, and the development of similar targeted online training courses for other countries.
