Relapse remains a significant problem in patients with metastatic osteosarcoma. The response to carboplatin of patients with newly diagnosed metastatic or unresectable osteosarcoma was assessed in an upfront phase II window, which was followed-up by surgery and intensive multiagent chemotherapy.
