Research InterestInterleukin-12 is a Th1 cytokine. It is important in the cell mediated immune response. We are investigating its role as an anti-tumor cytokine to augment the immune response against cancer. We are planning a human trial.

Research InterestThrough a 3 pronged comprehensive program: translational and clinical research, early detection and treatment, and promoting education, awareness and immunization, we are working towards the development of new strategies that will lead to the elimination of hepatitis B worldwide and reduce the threat and incidence of liver cancer. Our current research efforts focus on evaluating potential new diagnostic and treatment markers and novel targeted therapy for primary liver cancer.

Research InterestClinical research focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of anal cancer and its precursor lesions. Clinical trials of ablative therapy for High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesions (HSIL) of the anus and perianal tissues as a means for preventing anal cancer. Basic science work in collaboration with Ronald Davis and Hanlee Ji focused on the molecular genetic and pathologic studies of anal cancers using moecular inversion probe genomic technology
