Music Program at the Cancer Center

Any guest visiting the Stanford Cancer Center will notice the healing presence of music throughout the building.  In addition to the Ambient Piano series, musicians perform in the lobby, clinics and Infusion Treatment Area.  The music is part of the Cancer Supportive Care Program, whose goal is to help patients and their families cope with cancer and reinforce the healing environment of the Stanford Cancer Center.

Music in the Clinics and Infusion Treatment Area
To alleviate the wait for patients and their families in the clinics and the Infusion Treatment Area, harpists and guitarists hold live performances throughout the week. These performances are free and part of the Guest Services Music Program. The Carolyn Wiedemann Reller Summer Concert Series at Stanford Hospital

The 2011 Summer Series was the fifth consecutive year of these wonderful concerts, held every other Tuesday at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, from June 7 through October 11. The concerts took place outdoors in the space adjacent to the patio, located behind the rear entrance of the Center for Advanced Medicine (Cancer Center) and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.  Attendees relaxed on the lawn or on provided seating while they enjoyed a concert by some of the Bay Area's best musicians. The Reller Summer Concert Series is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Reller family in honor of Carolyn Wiedemann Reller.
