How to Volunteer

Volunteer Application Process

  1. Complete the  volunteer application
  2. Please mail completed applications to:

  3. Contact us (see below contact information) to schedule an interview.
  4. Attend Hospital Volunteer Orientation Training. The training covers the following topics:

    • Stanford Hosptial & Clincs Mission Statement & Values
    • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
    • JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations)Requirements
    • Confidentiality
    • Patient Safety
    • Code of Conduct
    • Environmental Health & Safety
    • Cultural Diversity & Sensitivity
    • Health Clearance Requirements
    • Volunteer privileges & guidelines
    • Respect for Individuals Preventing Harassment in the Workplace

  5. Complete Health Clearance (measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, and TB)

NOTE: All assignments to volunteer positions can be terminated at any time, by either party, with or without notice and with or without cause.  No volunteer assignment is guaranteed for any specific period of time.
