Diagnosis and Treatment of Peritoneal Cancer

In rare cases, cancer arises in the peritoneum – the inner lining of the abdominal cavity. Peritoneal cancer is believed to be very similar to ovarian cancer. As with ovarian cancer, the mild symptoms of peritoneal cancer make early diagnosis difficult.

Stanford Expertise

Because peritoneal cancer is so rare, it is important that your doctor is familiar with the disease so that you get the best treatment possible.

Physicians at the Stanford Cancer Center have experience caring for women with peritoneal cancer, and even run clinical trials aimed at finding better treatments such as experimental combination therapies and cutting-edge monoclonal antibody therapies.
